I have no idea what you mean by 'if it's name is worth it',but it's a pretty good series. I personally don't really like it though. |

I played the mediocre-at-best Wii version of Call of Duty 3, and if CoD4 is anything like Halo 3 on Xbox Live, prepare to get chewed out by prepubescent internet tough guys. If you're going to get a multiplayer FPS, I suggest something slightly more obscure like TF2 or Shadowrun. Both of these games have a huge element of strategy and offer so much more than a run 'n' gun fragfest. |

Call of Duty 4 was one of the best games of 2007, and is being hailed as one of the best shooters ever made. It's supposed to awesome, I'd get it. |

Halo 3 was hailed as one of the best shooters ever made too, and I traded it in because it sucked. |

CoD4 isn't like Halo, though. It's got 'realism'. You die from 3 machinegun bullets. 
Honestly, though, M'aiq doesn't see why the game works like it does. It literally tosses you in a match with any leveled player, and every weapon that DOESN'T suck is only available to the high levels.
EDIT: Also, Halo 3 is a great game. The problem is the community. Hate the player, not the game. |

This is true. It was kinda fun on custom maps with friends, but nobody on my friends list played it on a regular basis and Matchmaking was unbearable. |
