Okay, here's the story. It freaked the hell out of me.

So, I took a shower, like I always do on Sundays, duh. But this time, it was...Ugh.

I normally shower with the lights off and everything, so yeah. I was taking a shower, and all of a sudden I smelled...Blood. I can see rather well in the dark, and I had a small light on anyway. I open my eyes, and I see...Blood. I don't mean just a small amount. I mean it was as if someone drained the blood out of someone, and decided to take a shower with the blood. Blood was coming out of the shower-head/whatever you call it.

The thing is, I don't know why. It wasn't just a small animal getting caught in a pipe or anything, seeing even several rodents couldn't cause that much blood.

Then I managed to see something out of the corner of my eye. Something like eyes glowing in the dark, and the noise "whoo-whoo-wh-whoo" as an owl or something out make. The eyes, oddly enough, looked like an owl's eyes. I doubt they seem to pierce through the darkness, though.

Yet when I got out of the shower, it wasn't there, and I wasn't bloody at all. The shower was, but...I wasn't.

It's odd, and I'm just...Scared as hell...

After all, I have no idea what happened.

Okay, this goes beyond my willing suspension of disbelief. First of all, blood dissolves in water, so it can't have been real blood as it would have been thinned, which would make it pinkish and smell much less.

Second of all, blood doesn't go in pipes, and neither do rodents. If you had animals in your pipes, you'd have a leak big enough to make water pressure drop and start flooding your cellar. You would have noticed that.

Chemical reactions are out of the picture, too. There are some cases with acids and / or bases and indicators or simply colorants, but acids are right out (You'd be a melting heap of flesh/soup else) and colorants, too, would have to be put into the pipe directly, which is also unlikely.

From a scientific point of view, your story is impossible. From a liberal point of view, your story is improbable.

She never said she believed the blood was really there, just that she saw it.

And I would've done as DP said.

I have three theories:

1) Scary movie marathon the night before,
2) You're a sleepwalker, and you saw "blood" because you were still partially in REM sleep when the shower woke you up, or
3) Iron oxide corrosion in your water system, also known as rusty pipes.

I'm guessing it's the third one. That's the only theory so far that really makes sense.

But it could have been 2... Either way, it was definitely NOT blood coming out of your shower head. If neither 2 nor 3 is right, you're insane. Congratz.

Yeah. Iron oxideparticles suspended in water can give the illusion of blood, since real blood has iron in it (Hint: Red blood cells).
Andafourth theory: You were asleepthe whole time, and you only felt likeyouwereawake inthe shower, covered inblood.

EDIT: LOLWTFBBQ, did my space bar break again?

Yeah, this is it. I really would've jumped out screaming "HOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHITMOMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!" And gome down to the Family Room and started playing SMPRG with all the lights on the bottom floor on and with my dog with me.
