Not the 9 that everyone's raving about, 2.

Story:You wouldn't really know the exact story until you read the manual. Wily builds eight war machines to get his revenge on MegaMan, Light and rule the world.
It's simple, and it works for it's time.

Gameplay:...Oh GOD this is going to take awhile.
This is where it get's it's infamy.
There are two rules to MegaMan 2.(How fitting)
Don't take unnecesary risks like going for some of the stuff in QuickMan's stage.
And DON'T YOU DARE BLINK, BECAUSE THAT LASER WILL *crag* YOU UP
The game is notorius for being hard, even on the easiest difficulty. This isn't as bad as much as it is frustrating.

The enemy placement cannot be forgived, however. They put the simplest enemies in JUST the right spot to screw you over royally.

Case in point, there's a part in CrashMan's stage where there's a Metool blocking the ladder. Not only that, but he takes up the entire platform, and if you try to beat him by standing your ground, he WILL knock you over the edge. Not only that, but on the way up, there are bird robots that spawn, drop eggs, and release a load of little birds that divebomb you.
And if you start on that stage, there's literally no way to avoid getting hit, and you end up at the bottom. The little feathered bastards try again, but it's easier to counter at this point.

And don't get me started on AirMan and QuickMan...

The Metal Blade is also broken as all get out.

Graphics:They're pretty good for the time, and the color schemes may not have been 100% accurate to the artwork, but they still worked.

Music:Only stage theme I don't really like is WoodMan's and even then I have to give it credit.

SFX:Primitive, but still works, even for this generation.

I reccomend you get it if you like a challenge, but don't if you're easily pissed off.

I couldn't have put it better myself. Mega Man 2 is indeed a really good game, though definitely not my favorite. I feel your pain on QuickMan's stage and that's sorta part of the reason its not my favorite game. But like I said before, its still good though i prefer Mega Man 3.
