I've wondered about this a long while, actually. I don't have much of an opinion on it, other than correcting someone else's grammar is an unnecessary annoyance, but would you deem it strikeworthy flamebait?

Just wondering.

I'm not sure if it's truly strike-worthy, but it does seem to cause a lot of flames. Maybe people hate being corrected?

Correcting someone's grammar generally isn't flamebait.

Grammar Nazism, however, is repeated, and sometimes done in a very, very rude way, sometimes to the level of being a flame in itself.

Anyway, correcting someone's grammar IS pretty rude, unless the person seems to be asking for it (ie. "I hope I spelled that right", "Not sure about the spelling", etc.)... So, if you see people overreacting to it all of the time, consider it flamebait.

This is about my post, isn't it?

I just felt really pissed off when I saw "right" used in the place of "write." :'D

It's actually really annoying when people correct me. Usually I'm in a horrible mood, or really tired when I start making spelling mistakes, and people correcting me doesn't help at all. And if they do it in a rude way, then it gets me quiet angry.

Also, you could consider it spammy.

I know, I'm asking for a strike with this, but...It's spelled "quite."

If it's along the lines of "I think you mean <Correct spelling>", it's okay.

If it's something like "HOLY SHIT YOU *crag* IDIOT IT'S <Correct word>!!! OH LOL GO BACK TO MYSPACE YOU NOOB", I'd see it as strikeable.
