I didn't save mine, but I ended up somewhere in the bottom right corner. If I understand it correctly, that means, in terms of economics, I'm more conservative/capitalist, but in terms of social values, I'm a little more liberal. If my understanding is correct.
Here's how it works, I believe. Left and right determine how liberal/conservative you are economically, whereas up and down are how liberal/conservative you are with social/government issues. |

Just as the official picture thread serves as a good reference for what members look like, the Political Compass thread serves as a good reference as to how someone feels about politics. Considering that General Discussion is the closest thing we got to a "Serious Discussion" board, it seems only natural that a political reference thread like this should be stickied. |

Economic Left/Right: -2.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.87 I'm pretty close to Gandhi, which I see as a good thing. I'm about halfway down into Libertarian- the individual is what defines a country and its people, but the state is definitely important in a stable government- and about in the middle in terms of economy, leaning a teensy bit to the left. I don't fully understand the left/right thing anyway. |

It's simple, really. If you're towards the left, you're more for a government regulated economy. If you're more towards the right, you're for a more open market with less restrictions. In the far left side of the spectrum, you'd probably believe that one shouldn't be allowed to open up his own business, but rather find work in a job that the government creates. In the far right side of the spectrum, very few jobs are created by the government.
The moral/social "Liberal/Conservative" thing (Which most people refer to first when talking about liberals and conservatives), however, mostly depends on how far up or down you are. Most conservatives find themselves closer to the top, whereas most liberals find themselves closer to the bottom.
Being a firm believer in the right to own a business and make a profit, the concept of competition, and the human nature of self-interest, I found myself in the lower right area. |

Undecided option = YES But technically, you could skip questions, and that would probably count as Undecided.
At least I'm close to the center... |
