I had PT in ROTC today. Well, instead of doing each exercise once and running a few laps, we did about 40 of each while running in between the stations set up along the track at the football field. We did 4-count pushups, flutterkicks, side hops, and something else I can't remember but sucked ass. Everyone was exhausted after it, and even our Platoon leader threw up behind the bleachers halfway through. I felt like passing out once while laying on hot as hell asphalt doing the flutter kicks the second time around (We did 20 of each, and then we did it again.), and I couldn't even open my eyes because of the sweat in them. I was so grateful when he called us back to attention, because I could barely hear them and the temperature just started rising against me out fo nowhere.

Sounds like hell? I'm not saying that ROTC is torturing me, because I have fun doing it and afterwards I actually feel really good about myself for getting through it. I have class with this one guy who went to middle school with me all 3 years, and he might as well have been born wearing a BDU. He went to this Marines summer camp thing, and I have no doubt that he'll join the armed forces sometime in his life. I used to think that he was sort of a jerk because he hung out with some people that used to pick on me, despite never doing anything to me himself. He really stepped up this year, though, and he was able to take over for the Platoon leader after he had to rest after puking. He did the last 2 exercises, and as I was walking along to get water he just clapped me on the shoulder and told me truthfully that I did a good job. Hearing that from the guy who I used to think was a dick was really awesome, and I was in a good mood the rest of the period.

But then lunch sucked ass and good feeling gone forever. D:
