Looks pretty damn awesome if you ask me.
I think it would even better if somebody actually constructed it, though, that somebody is definitely not me. |

Momentarily, I'm working on the documentation.
Sneak peek !
Part #1 – The Recoil Ring And Part #2 - Springs
The recoil ring is a ring studded with small springs. It is affixed to the firing end of the PL. The Recoil Ring’s purpose is to absorb the shock of the firing plate ( # which would otherwise shoot out of the tube, endangering nearby passants and decreasing accurancy. It also assists in detaching the pie from the firing plate by providing a sudden deceleration, which should cause the pie to be released from the magnetic plate and go on in a curved path. Possible velocity loss from this maneuver has still to be investigated, and may lead to fine-tuning of the magnet plates’ power of the spring power. The only current issue with the recoil ring is that it restrains the maximum diameter of the pie, and may lead to misfire if the pie isn’t places precisely. A current idea to once again assure firing would be a funnel-like wall around it, but that would make the ring useless as it would block the way to the springs, and also get in the way of the direction rods.
Note to self: Calculate the potential force stores in the spring if under tension and under the restrainers ( that is, ready to fire) and adjust the number and strength of the recoil ring’s springs in order to balance out that force exactly.
F1 (force of central spring) is balanced by -FA (combined potential force of recoil ring springs) = -F1 + -F2 + … + - FX
Also, will there be actual recoil ? Recoil on the tripod ? On the tripod on wheels ? On the Integrated Telescope Stand ? How will it decrease accuracy ?
