Get rid of Mods, keep court.
Replacing mods, is a jury made up of 10 people, That are good and trusted. Jury is replaced every week. or two weeks.
All reports are filtered much like mods get them. But there are no mods. And only jury members may see this feature.
And they vote. Guilty, or not guilty, and provide reasons.
Then it gets posted in Court, and locked. With the reasons provided. Guilty = Strike + 20 Coin fee. Not Guilty = free.
It's a Poll, also. The most votes, wins. Poll closes after 48 hours.

I like being a mod... D:
To be honest, I don't know what I would do without the job.
But I like your idea of a Jury, plus its us mods that send people to court in the first place. The jury could just vote on whether the person is guilty or not. |

Back on topic, if we get rid of mods, nobody can lock, move, split, or delete topics.
It'd be nice if we had a jury to work together with, though. Semi-supported.

But, don't you just move the reported topic report thingymajig to the court?

Then we keep mods for those specific reasons then. Make them all global mods, that don't really have the ability to strike, UNLESS they are a jury member, which even then, it'd just be a majority vote. |

I think Mods should retain the ability to strike, but we should also have no power in the decision of guilty/not guilty.
Police Officers and Jurors. Make sense? |

Police Officers and Jurors. Make sense? | Eh, true. I don't like the idea of a strike from the police officers. Maybe it'll make the case more important to the jury or something. Maybe the mods approve of the reports the jury gets. |

Mods/Members/Jurors send reports --> Mods/Francis verify reports --> Jurors vote on reports --> ???? --> PROFIT!
That's what I'm getting at. The first two things stay the same, but instead of Francis being the only one to deal justice, the jurors do that for him. |

You think he's going to lose his job if he becomes Vice? Where did that come from?
Francis only said that the President loses his job. The Vice isn't even an official position in digibutter's election (Actually, Francis once said that there probably "wouldn't be a Vice." He did say, however, that the President could create his own cabinet, and didn't say anything about those guys losing their positions (Sorta like how FW is both a mod and the YC contest leader.) This is the case with Goomba and me.); rather, someone who helps the President when he can. I hate it when people keep bringing this rumor up.
Anyway, back on-topic. No, I don't think the Court system works at all. Also, taking away power from mods is a recipe for disaster- if we didn't have the power to jail members, what would we do if a group decided to form up and spam up the place? We couldn't just wait for the jury to make a decision. We'd have to take immediate action.
I suggest we have different types of mods, like most successful boards have- with forum mods, super mods, and global mods. That would allow for a larger number of mods, and increase the efficiency of the justice system by quite a bit.

...I would increase said jury from 10 to 11... ...as so that theyre arent ties... ...and whenever a petition for unmodding is made... ...members of jury should get a PM... ...and also, you are PM'd if you are appointed jury-member... ~White Shy Guy |
