I got a good look around at the areas which pretained to what we've covered in Art History, but in the middle of it all, my camera died.

I had to go get batteries from a store two blocks away, got them. But on the way back down the stairs, I slipped and hit the floor in the museum. About four people who were nearby came to my aid. One was an old man who I think was a visitor. Two were people that worked there, and the fourth was a woman who turned out to be a photographer for the museum or some such thing.

I was helped back up and sat down at a nearby table to rest for a bit. My hearing was muffled, my right cheek really hurt, and my elbows stung. I was frequently asked if I was hurt by this one worker and the photographer and they asked if I wanted anything or needed any ice.

I just requested a small glass of water and some napkins. Which I got.

My rear still hurts, but everything else is fine. When I relayed this all to mom, she said that the museum people were probably nervous that I would try to sue them or something, which I feel is rather stupid as the accident was more on my part and the only problem they could be blamed for was the stairs' existence. But she thinks that when I hit my butt on the marble steps, I jarred my spine as she had never heard of falls without head-damage causing loss of hearing. She wanted to know if I wanted to go to the hospital, but I didn't.

If my hearing goes again, I agreed for her to take me to the hospital.

Sorry to hear about the falling. You'd be suprised though, what people can sure other people over. A woman sued McDonalds because she spilled her hot coffee on herself once, just because the cup didn't have a "WARNING: Contents are hot!" label.

On top of that, a burglar once sued a family because he fell down their staircase while he was robbing them, because the stairs weren't carpeted or something. >.o

Good to hear you had a pretty good time, though. Be glad that you didn't fall on some ice(not that there would be any this time of year), that's the only thing more painful than falling on stone/marble...

Damn! Hope you heal up quickly.

The same exact thing happened to me when I went to the Philadelphia Art Museum on a 6th grade field trip. The science teacher decided to make up run up the "Rocky Steps". Now, keep in mind, it was freezing cold outside and there was ice on the steps!

As we were running up, I slipped on one of the center steps, tumbled all the way down and landed right on my back. I was knocked out cold. It took me about ten minutes to wake up.

That science teacher was fired a day later. He deserved it... he was a moron anyway.

The same thing happened to one of my friends when I was in 7th grade...

It was very cold out, and when my English teacher told us to go up the stairs, she [My friend] slipped at the very top, and fell ALL the way down at the bottom [there were 65 steps] and passed out. About that time, I used a phone booth [We were outside] and called over an ambulance. I was asked to go with her, and I'm like, "At least I brought my Game Boy."

Such accidents are embarrasing and irritating and makes you ask God why he did this to you. Sorry, to hear anyway.
