The demo was really fun, but I'm concerned the game might be too linear.
I mean, its cool that you can jump off a wall, kick a dude in the face, then slide down a ramp, jump onto a pole, which you swing off of onto the roof of the next skyscraper. But, if that's what you were supposed to do (as indicated by the bright red objects), then it basically becomes just a racing game with more complicated button presses.
Mirror's Edge plays like a First-Person Sonic the Hedgehog game. SEGA, are you paying attention?
Turns out my parents are keeping it for Christmas. I went to go get it in the morning and it was gone. It'll be funny opening up a Christmas present for myself.
Played it. Beat it. I tried the time trials, and have yet to make the leader boards. Personally, I'm not complaining that it's linear. It'd make a lot less sense as a sandbox, open sort of game.

Yeah, it could work with the game's universe, but it'd be awkward with the way the game works. I rented this game a few days ago, and I'm getting it for Christmas. I *crag* love this game. The puzzle-solving bits were REALLY awkward and often frustrating (i.e. climbing up a pole, sloooowly shimmying across a ledge, jumping onto another ledge, jumping onto a bar and swinging off it only to discover you were off by that magical tenth of a millimeter and falling all the way back down), but the straight fast-paced action and the combat were amazingly well done.
