Just poke the Big Red Button on the console and start over from the nearest Save Block. You don't get Cudge until 5-2, so you can't mallet some sense into him. |

Just restart the battle if the glitch happens. As to the cause, I heard somewhere that it happens if you level up after an O'Chunks fight. |

Only if you still level up after the fight. Just kill squiglets until you level up, and then it should be safe. |
