After much thought and consideration, here are the games that I deem worthy of recognition as the best games ever.
10. World of Warcraft
-World of Warcraft essentially revolutionized MMORPG gameplay. The amount of polish put into the game has ensured that it will be played for many more years to come.
9. Super Mario 64
-This title revolutionized platformers. It defined the basics for- and ushered in- a new genre of games: the 3D platformer.
8. Super Metroid
-For many, this was the pinnacle of quality in the history of 2D metroid.
7. The Pokemon Series
-The popularity of these collectible critters have evolved from a simple fad into a lasting pop culture icon. Pokemon, although stretching its formula thin, deserves a spot on the list.
6. Star Fox 64
-Star Fox 64 is the epitome of jet-fighter rail-shooting goodness. Although linear in terms of progression, it allowed multiple differing paths to take, ensuring that most people would have a different adventure on their first playthrough.
5. Ocarina of Time
-The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was the very first 3D Zelda game, and it introduced many conventions of 3D action-adventure games that would be present in the genre for years to come.
4. The Grand Theft Auto Series
-Grand Theft Auto is the definition of open-world action gameplay. Well-known for its well-written stories and humor, Grand Theft Auto continues to entertain us for years to come.
3. Final Fantasy VI
-This title is hailed by many as the greatest RPG on the SNES, and perhaps the greatest 2D RPG ever. This is due to its well-rounded battle system and endearing characters.
2. Super Mario Galaxy
-Super Mario Galaxy essentially perfected the 3D platforming formula introduced with Mario 64. With all of its enhancements- beautifully detailed environments, quality music, and tight controls- it's hard not to love this game.
1. Tie between Final Fantasy VII, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and Metroid Prime
-Each of these titles did something grand for their genres. FFVII served as a role-model for many new, young 3D RPGs, Sonic 3 and Knuckles perfected classic platforming, and Metroid Prime combined the thrill of shooters with the depth of an explorable adventure game. These games are deserving of the number 1 spot of Uncle Cid's Top Fifteen Games Ever.

I personally detest the lack of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, since it's basically what really kicked off the RPG/platformer side of the series which I love to death. I also don't agree with your addition of Final Fantasy VII for #1. Personally for me, FFVII wasn't as great as people always made it out to be.
Oh, and I also dislike you not mentioning the Elder Scrolls/Fallout series at all, because those are by far the greatest 'sandbox' experiences available.
I'm undecided on the GTA selection, though. I grow bored with GTA extremely fast, but I love Saints Row, which is basically GTA, but more "over the top". |

I agree with FFVII and Sonic 3 and Knuckles . Played them both, and they seem very addicting. The only thing I hated about FFVII was the paths : Sometimes when I was trying to go up up some stairs or the path, Cloud couldn't run further. But, when I moved 1cm to the side I could walk up like nothing happened! But thats not a really big deal . |

This list lacks Super Mario RPG and Banjo-Kazooie. Also OoT is a little bit lower than it should be, but I agree with Star Fox 64, SM64, and Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

Could use some more Valve. And maybe some Fallout 3. |

Good list. All games mentioned in there are great games. Can't argue with your opinions. |

Banjo-Kazooie... no, Banjo-Tooie is better.
Tooie is the most refined, in-depth 3D platformer of all time. It's extremely challenging and overall better than Super Mario 64 in nearly every way. |

Fallout 1 (Or any of the other original Fallouts, but that's a stretch.) deserves a spot more than Fallout 3. |

What about Sam & Max, from TellTale Games? That ushered in the return of the Point-and-Click Adventure genre. |

Before I continued reading I knew it number 1 would be Final Fantasy 7. So predictable. |

Wait, wut?
Otherwise, the list was pretty good. Could have stuck Banjo-Tooie in there though, great game. |

Shadow Kingdom, I'm going to be honest with you. Super Mario 64 was nothing special. |

I have to agree with this. Yes, it revolutionized platforming, but the game itself wasn't that great. |
