I'm currently writing a novel (that none of you will likely see here) and I am two chapters in. It's Asimovian, which is a term I coined that means "A book that is made up of a series of linking short stories, rather than one long story."

One series of short stories I have titled "Engineers."

The summary of it is as follows:
Quote:
In a futuristic world, technology is man's best friend. Technology makes life easier in every way. Electricity runs the world, and men seek to have more gadgets rather than more money. But who runs such a technological world? Who keeps it running and clean? The Engineers do. Engineer is a very broad term, and slightly incorrect as most of them aren't even what you would consider an Engineer. The job of the Engineers is to run the world, basically, from behind closed doors. The top Engineers serve as assistants and advisers to politicians and government leaders, and the lowest Engineers keep the city running smooth and clean. Keeping the city clean, however, means a bit more than just getting rid of trash. It also means getting rid of anything or anyone that endangers the 'perfection' of the city.

I don't have much of the story done aside from that, and the name of the three main characters. The main characters will be three Engineers by the name of Hadren, Baryllius (or Bary) and Mesmo. Their names are puns on the elementary particle Hadron, and it's subdivisions Baryons and Mesons.

I'll definitely get to writing this in my spare time... but honestly I can't guarantee anything. As we all know I'm an avid gamer, and I spend time posting. Aside from that, I am also working on other short stories that will link with this one in my novel. The other short story I'm currently working on is Virtual Insanity, and the title of my novel will be Reality Syndrome.

Well you won't. It's a series of short stories, and I have yet to start it. This MIGHT fail. I'm still working on Virtual Insanity (which IS, by the way, an homage to Jamiroquai)
