I'm not talking about the "coolest" cutscenes, but the most powerful cutscenes. Cutscenes that really make you think. Cutscenes that tie messages together. That sort of stuff.

Here's an example of a beautiful, powerful ending. Note- teh Spoilerz.

As you can see, it's simple; however, it has layers, giving it depth. It truly is powerful, from its atmospheric aspects all the way to its messages and stuff about life and junk. It truly was a beautiful finish to a fantastic game.

Now, your turn.

Uhhh.

I honestly don't think that ending is powerful at all. Just a bunch of weird red lions jumping to the top of a mountain and roaring.

You have to play FFVII to really understand.

FFIV's ending left you wondering what happens to the cast, since they were just amazing, as did FFVI. I don't remember any of the endings from the post-VII series, besides those of X and XII, which tied things up(Except for Balthier's message.).

Why is it that every time you post a thread with the word "best" "scene" or "greatest" in it, M'aiq always assumes it'll have something related to FF7 in it?

Not only that, but why is M'aiq always right? D:

Anyway, there are too many moments in Mass Effect to even list that fit into this. M'aiq couldn't possibly post them all.

Morrowind, however, ha a good ending that left you thinking you're all godlike and everything.

If someone's favorite game was Bioshock, would you not expect him to be more likely to post a scene from Bioshock than other games in one of these threads?

I use the exact same mindset. It's because he is under the impression of "it's the greatest game ever made".

It really annoys me, for some reason.

I believe that it is a masterpiece. So what?

It really annoys me how you have to come in and act like a pompous dick whenever I talk about Final Fantasy, for some reason.

Plenty of people on the internet constantly praise OoT, SM64, Halo, and other titles as "the greatest games ever made." As much as or moreso than I do with the Final Fantasy series, in fact. I don't see why I can't hold an opinion, while the fans of those games express their love for those games, often times in much greater magnitudes than I do.

In fact, I only make a thread on Final Fantasy every now and then. It's not like I'm constantly spewing "Final Fantasy VII," as you so falsely believe. Plus, take a look at my previous comment, about how someone whose favorite game was Bioshock would be more likely to post something from Bioshock in this thread.

those people irritate me too. It's not just you. also I hadn't seen your post when I made mine.

It really isn't just you. It's happened to me with other people talking about other games.

Wait! You forgot the newest thing in the Powerful Cutscenes collection - Strong Bad's Showdown with Ultimate Trogdor, where he ends up evolving into the incredibly awesome design he submitted to TellTale Games!

You have to play FFVII to really understand.

Not really. Even if you understand it, its not that "powerful" but whatever.

Every CD-i cutscene was perfected in every way. Cutscenes made so powerful, it can bring a tear to your eye. Lots of tears.

When comparing Midgar and the current state of the world of FFVII to that last scene- about the implications of man vs. nature, as well as the atmospheric layout (The sounds of nature alone, as well as the laughter of children present at the end)- it definitely is a majestic site to behold.
