Remember how in Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, and emerald, when an egg hatched, the pokemon inside was level 5? And how there were wild pokemon levels 2, 3, and 4?
My guess is that since a trainer had the egg, it was effected by radiation, making it grow faster inside the egg. If you think about it, the technology was high-tech, and it could have given off radiation, making the eggs grow faster.
And in DP, the electronics could have been less radioactive, so the eggs hatched at the normal level.

Or maybe Nintendo just didn't think shit through.

But seriously, that theory makes little-to-no sense.

That's what you WANT me to think! D:

But yeah... Uhm... I'm airing on the side that since your starter Pokemon begin at lv5, maybe hatched eggs should be the same level.

If the gear emitted radiation that effected the pokemon, why doesn't it have any effect on the trainer? The trainer doesn't wear a radsuit, last time I checked, and they don't seem to be giant hulking mutants or cancer patients, either. Neutral

But newborn Pidgeys and Ratatas are level 5 as well.

This is just a subject where any logic can't possibly apply. I mean, half of the Pokemon shouldn't even be able to lay eggs.

When does one of Nintendo's big series make any logical sense?
