I have been stuck with version 1.0 since I got it near the release of the game. Whenever I try to patch it, a little bar comes up during the final stages, that shows the percentage. It flashes to 50, 100, back to 0, 100 again, then freezes at 0. I have tried waiting literally hours for it to do something before, but it does nothing.

Can anyone explain to me why this is happening?
