First of all the "3D" graphics are ugly. Second of all, I don't like playing it in second person, I liked it a lot better when it was first person. Third, I'd prefer not having to see someone cut into a live octopus. Fourth, they give very vague instructions and the steps don't make sense. Fifth, at least Mama's quirky voice was likeable. Now there are like a ton of stupid voice actors whose accents do not match the country they are supposed to be from.

This game takes the fun casual gameplay of Cooking Mama and... uh... doesn't HAVE that fun casual gameplay. o_O;

I guess it's a pretty big rock.

"Does the chicken pot pie MAKE YOU WANNA CRY?"

But seriously, I refuse to play any of these games. I mean, cooking? Come on.

If you suck at cooking IRL, these games are great.

I have the original DS game and Cook Off.

Between your mentioning of cutting octopus in the Cooking Mama game, and the catching of the occasional Octopus and Squid in Animal Crossing: City Folk, It kinda makes me remember this from an episode of Fighting Foodons, where Fried Ricer is revealed to be deathly afraid of Octopus and Squid:

Octopus and squid!
Octopus and squid!
Eat 'em by the pound,
You'll be glad you did!

And it still sticks to me to this very day.

I'm good at cooking IRL and that's probably why I love the Cooking Mama games. When I run out of actual food in my house to cook, I go play a cooking game. ;>>

Cook Off is loads of fun with a friend.

Why don't you like it? Most likely reason is because it was another one of those sequals that were made just so people would get another copy of the game. Neutral

M'aiq hates sounding so negative about Nintendo nowadays, but all this stuff is really taking a toll on his patience. :<

I hope Nintendo is just taking a breather. This year, good games are on the way, and hopefully, even better announcements.

Anyway ... wrong accents? Please don't tell me there's ANOTHER wrong Dutch accent in there. The Dutch language hardly can use more stupid people that do the accent wrong, I mean it. Mike Myers ruined enough for us.

Mind writing a review on this game, though? I like to go deeper into games.

I dunno. It's growing on me in a strange way, the main thing I hate about it is it doesn't give you instructions on the step beforehand, it just makes you rely on it giving you directions at the time where you're supposed to be doing them. So you essentially have to play a recipe, fail at it because you have no idea what you're doing, go "OH I GET IT" and do it again now that you understand what you're doing.

I just kinda ignore Cooking Mama altogether... It never seemed that interesting, as it's making food, which I could do at home at any time...

Is there anything special about this game series that makes it worthwhile?

I would reccomend Cook Off for the multiplayer aspect, IMO playing against someone else is a blast.
