Here is an idea that a few of us have had for a while. We could have an Achievement system (Like on the 360, or in WoW, or just about every game nowadays) that has rewards based on certain things that members have done. This would essentially serve as a replacement for our "score." Now, of course, there wouldn't be achievements for post count or posting alot (That would merely produce spam. This is something that we feel is wrong with the current score system.) If, however, we awarded activity (As in, you log in 300 days a year), that problem would probably not exist.

In addition, certain achievements could possibly come with certain little rewards. For instance, if you report bad posts often (And they are legitimate), you could get the special title "Agent of Justice" to be displayed under your name. If you have over ten thousand coins, you could get the special title "Filthy Rich."

If you obtain multiple titles, you could choose which one you wish to display under your profile options (And your achievement list would be in the public user profile.)

Some achievements could be obtained more than once (Say, something along the lines of keeping a specific alt for three months awards you the "My RP Characters are my Friends" achievement, and for each alt you keep for longer than three months, you get the achievement points (See the next paragraph) again. In your achievement tab in the public user profile, the number of times you completed the achievement would be shown next to the achievement.)

Another idea that goes hand-in-hand with this would be Achievement Points. For instance, most achievements would probably award around ten (Whereas some of the more difficult ones will award more) achievement points. When you amass enough, you could use them to purchase special non-transferrable items in a special achievement shop run by Francis alone (Say, you could purchase a -100 HP item that damages three users for 30, or you could purchase a Smash Ball (As in the "Lord Bowser War" event. It would last as long as the member is alive, or for 24 hours) for 200.) Certain items would require certain achievements to have been unlocked in addition to the points (For instance, you wouldn't be able to use a Smash Ball if you don't have the God of War achievement first.)

As for achievement concepts, here are some that we have thought of:

Regular: Visit the site for 300 or more days of the year. Awards 10 achievement points.

Cookie Monster: Obtain 20 cookies. Awards 20 achievement points and title. (This is a concept that depends on the revision of the cookie system. Cookies would have to be closely monitored and checked if they are legitimate or not. For instance, mods could have the ability to "cancel" cookies if they find that the cookies are being handed out for no reason.)

Informer: Report a legitimate bad post. Awards 10 achievement points. Repeatable.

Agent of Justice: Report a legitimate bad post at least 30 times. Awards 20 achievement points and title.

My RP Characters are my Friends: Keep a specific alt for at least three months. Awards 10 achievement points. Repeatable.

Filthy Rich: Have ten thousand or more coins at a single time. Awards 20 achievement points and title.

Warmonger: Kill 30 members with attack items. Awards 10 achievement points. Repeatable.

God of War: Kill 100 members with attack items. Awards 20 achievement points and title.

Nerr Warrior: Assist in defeating a boss (A member who used a smash ball.) The boss must be defeated within the 24 hour time limit. Awards 10 achievement points. Repeatable.

Nerr Savior: Deliver the most damage to a boss. The boss must be defeated within the 24 hour time limit. Awards 20 achievement points and title.

Titan: While in boss mode, survive throughout the 24 hour time limit. Awards 20 achievement points and title.

Tourney Winner: Win a tournament. Awards 10 achievement points. Repeatable.

Champion: Win a tournament designed by the site's administration. Awards 20 achievement points and title.

Hangin' with my Homies: Be an active member of at least 5 groups. Must be verified by the group's leaders. Awards 10 achievement points.

For the Hoard: Fill your inventory and bank's space to the max. Awards 10 achievement points.

Arcade Gamer: Earn the weekly high score in an arcade game. Awards 10 achievement points. Repeatable.

Arcade Junkie: Earn the all-time high score in an arcade game. Awards 20 achievement points and title.

Clan's Champion: While being a member of a clan, kill 30 members of opposing clans with items. Awards 10 achievement points. Repeatable. (Note: This coincides with the addition of Clans/Guilds, if they are added.)

Guildmaster: Be the leader of a clan with 20 members. Awards 20 achievement points and title. (Note: This coincides with the addition of Clans/Guilds, if they are added.)

Alright, so; what do you think? Any comments, suggestions? Good idea or bad idea?

I don't know. It's a good idea, but I think it could lead to some jealousy and unfriendly competition...

Quite the contrary. I believe that creating the room for some competition is a good thing; this system would encourage activity in areas such as the Arcade, and help revive the item/battle system.

That's a great idea. It'll probably spice up the competition in the battle system and the arcade system. Very well put.

OH BOY

I CAN'T WAIT TO BOMB SOME DODONGOS MEMBERS

On a more serious note, I like this idea. Only, we shouldn't be able to buy Smash Balls. Smash Balls give you 9999 HP and 999 MP, that's far too powerful unless access to it is nigh-impossible. That would be worth the equivalent of restoring your HP and MP by 9899 and 989, respectively, which would be over 14,000 coins if HP = 1 coin and MP = 5 coins. What with shop discounts and all, it'd be more like half that, but it's still a heck of a lot.

Well, the idea behind smash balls is that they would be very expensive (200 APs is quite alot when looking at how much achievements award, and considering that there would be a variety of other items that can be purcahsed with APs. Plus, the God of War achievement would probably have to be a prerequisite to purchase the item), and last only until you are killed (Or, if nobody kills you in 24 hours, you revert back to your normal HP and MP.) Plus, AP items couldn't be sold by members; they'd only be sold in the special Achievement Point store (Which is updated by Francis alone.)

I suggested this awhile ago, but I was thinking instead of replacing the score system entirely, it would just add to your current score.

That's a good idea, but I would like it better if the name of the achievements were videogame related.

What the hell.

This has been suggested so many times. And everytime everyone hates it. I don't understand. Whatever, No. I have seen a site crashed because they added awards, and people would just spam to get them, and almost nobody was normal.

Everyone doesn't seem to hate it this time.

That's because they probably awarded for post count, which we wouldn't do here. With this achievement system, spamming would get you nowhere (In other words, you would actually have to achieve something to unlock an achievement.). And what do you mean by "almost nobody was normal?" Your arguement against the concept of adding achievements is not adequate enough to debunk the idea that they will work.
