Just because I feel that companies that can't support themselves should burn doesn't make me communist. Also the answers are too constricting, and thus the compass is unreliable. Plus, you lack the ability to see from others' viewpoints. I could say we were all upside-down and you would say I was wrong. By the way, I'm not wrong, but I'm not completely right either. You stated that everyone's views and beliefs should be the same. Now tell me, in a perfect capitalism, what flaws are there? |

Because most people vote with their emotions first without fully taking the time to logically think through their choices? There's also the fact that the political compass site is biased and has irrelevant questions such as "what is more important, art or business" (When, as we've stated in the other thread, art really isn't important at all in communism), but it's still the most accurate one out there.

Any gamer would realize that- in a communist society- videogames would be virtually nonexistant. At least the fancy, high-budget 3D ones; the flash games you find on Newgrounds might still exist, but since we've clarified that communism would come at the expense of our artistic individuality (Also because communism is focused primarily on "needs" and shuns the concept of "desires," which is the category that most forms of entertainment fall under), those "games" would all be dull and lifeless. |

Its a governments job to serve the people, Not the peoples job to serve the government.( hence the term Public Servant)
A little bit of socialism goes a long way in my book, ESPECIALLY during an economic crisis, The Last time we had something like this, it was during the 1930's after a REPUBLICAN Left office Herbert Hoover. I believe it was called The Great Depression, and I believe it was caused by not regulating credit systems, among other things Unrelated business caused the collapse of the economy... sound familiar?
Fortunately history repeats its self, The DEMOCRAT Franklin D. Roosevelt took office and created many programs his critics would call communist, Such as the long lasting Social Security ( which in turn was ruined years later when Republican Ronald Regan Dipped into it for funding the military). this layed the groundwork for the American economy to rebuild itself, And the remnants of FDR's programs stopped our country from falling to chaos again. we were able to catch ourselves and now we are clawing back up.
EDIT: I also forgot to add on something important. President Obama will make many policy's that will be seen as Communist, and borderline Communist and will receive a lot of flak on both sides, this is the time to get this kind of stuff passed we need the government to support us, not the other way around
You Also seem to forget that the Political compass has a north and a south.
Most people here aren't communist, they just believe that the government should serve the people to some extent, They also believe in artistic expression and personal FREEDOM should generally not be curved in the name of the government. A reflection of the modern day Democrat. not a communist. |

Communistic ideals does not mean we think communism would be a better idea than democracy, quite the opposite. We just think the governments aren't doing things right. |

Just remember that there's a big difference between hating your government and hating capitalism. You can be arguing that federal government shouldn't exist at all and still be very capitalist. In other words, just because you hate your government doesn't mean you don't enjoy living in your capitalist society.
If you enjoy all the books, videogames, movies, websites, or other things created by the private market, you likely enjoy capitalism.

The modern-day Democrat is one who supports individual freedom, but believes market freedoms should be limited, to an extent.
The modern-day "classical liberal," "fiscal conservative" or "libertarian" is one who believes that we should have both social liberties as well as market liberties. In order to have true freedom, we must not limit some and allow others. We must push for both. |

I'd believe in that except for the fact that I'm not trusting in matters of greed. Without regulation, the greedy take shortcuts and give everyone but them the shaft.
For Instance, exporting Labor to China, simply because its cheaper, is a product of unregulated Business.
Of course we can even take this a step further, True Unregulated business has NO health restrictions,NO Helthcare or Employee Rights. NO Minimum wage Limit. among other things that are considered the Obligation of the business owner.
Now It would be nice if everyone who was rich was Andrew Carnegie, Unfortunately the Impression that I get from big business is more of an Ebeneezer Scrooge...I don't expect these commonplace rights to be there, unless they are enforced by Law.
Sorry if I got a bit wordy, My parents are Libertarians and I kinda have some back arguments XD; |
