They're over, and that's that. There is nothing anybody can do to bring back those times. All you can do now as a member is try to push the community forward into another golden age, instead of trying to push it back into it's smaller, discarded shell. Do people have to act in-character? No. Can they? Of course, what do you think M'aiq has been doing? Just because somebody joins with the name "Sauron" and doesn't act like he wants us all dead for the lulz doesn't mean Digi is dying. The reason Digibutter is dying is because many of the members seem to be afraid of change. They compare the newbies to the old members they loved so much, and shun them because they don't live up to that glory. Scaring off the new blood is the only thing that has been hampering the site. So they may not be able to type well, deal with it! So maybe the new guy is a Naruto/DBZ/Some other anime fan, should you care? Just ignore their posts about said affection. Christ, it's not like we have a right to pick on them, because perhaps we like some obscure videogames/TV shows that they hate?
In short: The only thing 'killing' this site are the people who want to resurrect the nostalgia and the ones who scare away the new members. We need to learn to move on if we ever hope to usher in the era of Nerr 2.0, when it finally happens. |

You're not entirely helping out the cause by making a new topic. I agree with you, but the only way Nerrs are going to stop with this Dreadful topic is if we just forget it and leave it. Trust me. |

M'aiq understands that making another topic doesn't help, but it may in the long run. Hopefully this topic prevents more of them from being made. |

I was here for a month, banned for 9 months, and came back on my 13th birthday, became re-active the next month.

from my experience: whining about how a site used to be causes the rest of the older members to whine too and leave
causing said site to become even less like how it used to be
just sayin'
As for digibutter itself I'm only here like once every two months and never keep up with the tiem so I can't really comment on nostalgiafaggotry anyway |

I'm one for nostalgia in some cases. Sometimes looking at the past can give a warm feeling. =D
But clearly I'm not the only one who doesn't want to try and replicate the past? I have the ability to move on, after all. I think we should all find that in us. Here's looking at those who 'lament a Golden Age long dead'. =/ |
