From what I can tell, there are 5 levels of topics in The Dump:
1. Spam.. hi, blargh totally random nonsensical stuff that somtimes becomes...
2. Meme-Spam... Dawn First time it was ok but not the 100th time.
3. Random Thoughs... I brushed my teeth., Youtube video.
4. Discussion... What is your favorte candy?, I saw a pretty bird today.
5. Should be in another forum... Super Paper Mario is better than TTYD.
The problem with The Dump is that there are too many levels and different members have different expectations. Some want it to be in Level 1 and 2... some want Level 3. But the problem is that they are mixed, and Levels 1 and 2 over power Level 3.
Levels 4 and 5 do not belong in The Dump. I guess people make those posts because they are already in the dump, and dont want to go anywhere else.
So the solution to this seems to be to limit how often you can make new posts in The Dump. This way, Level 3 is not flooded out by Levels 1 and 2. And no one will post Level 4 and 5 because it is not as convienient.

to be completely honest here, I like the dump because you're much less restricted on what you can do.
It seems much less like you have an admin and a bunch of mods staring at you, waiting to use the jail keys on you. You can post spam, utter nonsense, derail topics, and have fun, without worrying about breaking the rules. |

The only time I ever post 4 or 5 is when I don't know where else to post or if I know it will quickly derail. And yes, I'm gone for a few hours and there are three pages of new topics. Cut down on that. If all endsw badly, we just change it back. |

So you are slowing down the dump? I like that thought. It would cut down on spam, and encourage people to post elsewhere once in awhile. |

I would think it should be for anything that doesn't fit into the other forums. Just not 100 pictures of dawn, plox. Keep those in the same topic. I think it's still possible to spam there. |
