Because Portal is just one of the most awesome things ever. Period. It'll die in some years, probably. But they might make a Portal 2 so all those years waiting for it to die will reset. So... lol. |

People don't remember Portal for Portal. They only remember it for "The cake is a lie" and "Still Alive".
Looking back, it was an embarrassingly short game. Seriously, M'aiq's brother beat it in less than a day. We originally thought that the puzzle rooms were a tutorial until room 10, then we realized that it was gonna be the whole game. Sure, it was original and fun while it lasted, but the damn memes make it so overhyped. |

This. I try to find the Mirror's edge Theme, and all I get is piles of GlaDOS
EDIT: And I OWN Orange Box for Portal. HL2 and TF2 are effin hard as shit. TF2 doesnt even have a tutorial! I dunno how to play it! |

I know it was short, and I actually was referring to everything IN the game rather then the game play itself. Such as GLaDOS, quotes, Turrets, all that. I like it, so I guess I'm immune. Actually I love it. All the memes and everything. I'm stupid like that. |

Amen. The cake is a lie isn't even a memorable line. It was never stated explicitly by a character, it was just scrawled on the walls in an Easter Egg. Now I can't mention cake in any way shape or form without somebody telling me it's a lie, even when NOT in Portal context. Makes me wanna strangle them.
Portal wasn't even a unique game. It was a unique game feature in a pretty standard game. Soon there'll be portal-shooting guns abound in games and we'll be wondering why we fawned over Portal so much. |
