Colour looks french, as it's the European english spelling.
It may come from the french word for Color/Colour, I don't know.
As many people from Canada have French ancestors, many Canadian spellings will look possibly European/French.

Colour is the British spelling for it. The original, mind you.
I learned under the British system while I lived in Singapore, so I should know. |

Three, Canadians spell it "colour".
