Graphics: 9/10 The graphics were pretty great for a DS game. The only problem. if you ask me, is the fact that everyone seems chibi in this. Everyone is pretty small, compared to the size of their heads. The opening cutscene is AMAZING! The graphics are about as good as a PS3's graphics. There's so much detail and smooth movement, I was blown away when I first saw it.
Audio: 7/10 The audio was simply outstanding. The music is great, and the sound quality is pretty good. The only problem with the audio is that it's very hard to hear the voice acting, because of static.
Plot: 9/10 I'm not totally done, but so far the plot has been great. A lot of twists, unexpected moments, and the trials are really fun.
Character Development: 9/10 It's pretty good, could have been better. There is much character development, other than Edward's, but there were a lot of things involving the characters' personalities that I didn't expect. But if you ask me, Ceil and Rosa getting married was just WAY too far.
Depth: 10/10 This is a very fun, but very long game. I loved how long it was, and every time I though I was near the end, something else would happen, and I realized I wasn't even close. I thought Cecil becoming a paladin was the halfway mark, but I realized it was only about 1.5 eighths done. It also has New Game +, which allows you to start a new game, continuing from the old one. While levels and party members and things are reset, augments6 (Both used and unused) and something I can't remember right now are brought over. It also lets you get new augment you couldn't get before.
Overall: 9.6/10 This may very well be the greatest game I've ever played, if not, in the top 3. It's a must-buy. If you don't have it, go get it now, even if you have it for SNES, PS2, GBA, or whatever, you still have to get this DS one.

Eh... It's a decent review, but I'm not into the whole "spoilers in a review" thing, even if they're hidden.
Oh, and the people are supposed to be chibi-fied. I like the visual style they took. |

The game is more than 10 years old, and Cecil and Rosa ALWAYS got married. They were deeply in love at the beginning, in case you didn't notice. Also, I can't say I'm a fan of the graphics. Polygons look nasty on the DS. I prefer it to stick with sprites. |

Meh. The GBA remake was actually better, IMO. You also fail to mention several things.
- Minigames - Whyt - Augments - Bonus Bosses - The new deal with the inventory - The "Three NG+ only" deal. Just so you know, the endings have slight differences in them. - Namingway's adventure. - Treasures. - Character thoughts.
That's only a few of them. And no, the graphic's aren't as good as the PS3 graphics unless you're PS3 games are incredibly low-res. Go look at the FFXIII Versus trailer, which has actual in-game footage in it, and tell me that the graphics are on par with FFIV DS. As well, your static problem is probably because A) You're not using headphones, B) Your DS speakers are malfunctioning, or, C) Your headphones suck.
Also, remember that the character development is pretty much the same from the SNES version, with the exception of the flashback inside the Giant of Babil. |

AHAHAHAHA. THAT'S QUITE POSSIBLY THE STUPIDEST THING I HAVE HEARD FROM YOUR MOUTH THUS FAR.
Seriously now, the opening cutscene DID have good graphics for a DS, but it was about the quality of a PS2 cutscene.

what static

Stupid. Rosa and Cecil were in love from the beginning, I expected the marrage from the beginning.

Don't you think it's kinda hard to spoil something shown in the trailer?

Well, from what I heard, the GBA/SNES versions were better. I only got the DS one because I've never played the game and it was coming out for DS.
srsly your review fails. 3:|════׀ |

Hahaha. No. Not even close. The DS has about a hundredth of the graphical capabilities as the PS3. ФֻФ |

And also, maybe there's something different about our DSes. Mine is really PS3-like. And the static is there, and there's a lot of it.
@someone else: Oh, yeah! I forgot about gameplay!
Gameplay: 10/10
This is amazing. It blends strategy, realistic fighting, etc. You get to choose different spells, etc. And the enemies attack you, whether you've taken your turn, or not. You have to account for speed, and sometimes, even if you protect your guys first, they still might die, because of the enemies.

Yes, your DS is really PS3 like. My PS2 also happens to double as a cyborg assassin. Listen, even if FFIV DS were a PS2 game, it's terrible. Find a screenshot from FFIV DS and FFXII or FFX, and compare. The difference is severe. And whatever happened to the GBA slot on your DS? I always thought they had one, too. And use headphones, for crying out loud. That should remove any static. And it's Uematsu, so you must use headphones. |
