They left my brother and myself $30 to spend on dinner tonight, lunch tomorrow, and dinner tomorrow. Not including eating food from the fridge, I have been thinking about how to make $15 stretch.

Not including banked money, I have $18, $3 of which come from today as I just got some rice cakes.

Tonight, I'm having some of the BBQ chicken tenders I got a couple days ago from a Jamaican restaurant near campus and when I initially came home I had some shrimp ramen with dried shrimp tossed in. The restaurant has really good food, but it's not somewhere I would go every day, thanks to the general rise in price of food especially in the case of rice.

I already asked my brother to get me a crepe on his way to meet up with me after he finishes class tomorrow, so that's $3.75 gone. The closest place I know of that sells crepes costs over $4.50, hence the brother.

I have been planning on getting the lunch special from this Japanese-Korean fusion restaurant on Friday for a while now, because costs $7 and gives you a heap of delicious food. Since this is a restaurant, there's sales tax. $7.49

This leaves me with $6.76 for dinner, although if I have food left over from the lunch special, I could eat some more of it. I could in theory get a slice of rum cake from the Italian bakery, but as it costs $4, I am leaning towards "no". There is a marketplace that sells sparkling apple cider, although I wonder if I could get it cheaper if I walk a bit further to the Trader Joe's (however, this adds extra time to travel).

It takes me roughly 20 minutes to walk to the restaruant, however the lunch special does not begin until 11 and the food takes 15 minutes to cook.

And all this is being considered without the possibility of not encountering the strikers surrounding the building where the restaurant is in again.

As a Plan B, instead of getting the good lunch special, I could go to the Wawa nearby campus (although the one right in front of the building has some very good options that the other one does not). From there I could get a small meal and still have $10.25, give or take a quarter.

Plan C is essentially getting a whole strawberry and creme cake to munch on, which costs $15, plus tax.

Plan D is a combination of C and B, but the cake slices would come from this place a couple blocks from the building with the Korean-Japanese restaurant and, unless they have changed the deal, they are priced at two desserts for the cost of 1, in which case I would get four (1 for my brother, 3 for me).

And there still is the unknown factor of whether or not I stumble across a decently priced bake sale on campus. They occur infrequently frequent. For example, in my first term, there was roughly a bake sale every week.

Personally, if I were ever faced with this, I would actually take a bit of time, get a recipe or two off the Internet, and go to the grocery store, and buy ingredients. But that usually doesn't work too well money-wise.

But that's some good money management there. Not everyday you see that.

I considered that, actually, but I have little experience at cooking.

And thanks. I have developed a habit of doing such things.

It's a good habit to have. I personally would try to save as much as possible, but if something's worth it, I'd buy it.

Anyways, you should try cooking, especially if you're patient. It's pretty easy for people that are patient. I like cooking(And am a guy), mostly because I can stand to wait for my ingredients to fully cook. And besides, practice makes perfect. I used to be a terrible cook, even burning my sandwich that I was heating up on a pan. Yes, I burned it.

I like making cocoa omelettes. It is a name I made up for what is essentially fried eggs with hot chocolate or chocolate milk powder. And then there's various experimentation involving soups and spices.

You know, you could just not eat for two days. It's not that hard, nor that harming to your health. And hell, it gets you $30 dollars.

TCH, it's actually kinda hard for some people. The most I've ever gone without food was 21 hours, and I was starving after. I could literally eat a horse. It also can lead to gastric problems.

Chaos Heart, simply not eating is not an option for me. I have a high metabolism, so my weight is perpetually around late 80 early 90 pounds. If I go a single day without food I get very hungry.

And the $30 is being split between my brother and myself.

The main reason why I focus on price is because of quantity vs quality. I try to find the best food I can get at decent prices. For example, in the case of microwavable plastic soup containers, I get the beef stew instead of Campbell soups because the stew container is bigger and has more inside and the price is roughly a buck less than two soups (which combined are still a little less than the stew).

There's also the cheese pizza from the campus' cafeteria. It is crap and is about 2 or 3 bucks. For that price, I could get a bigger and much more tasty slice of barbecue chicken pizza from a place down the street for roughly the same price.

I understand completely. I way a little less than 110. For my height and age, this is extremely underweight. I too have a high metabolism, which is why I am always eating when doing something.

However, the average human ca go for a month without food. I'm sure someone like you or I can survive for two days.

I'd do it for $15. But then again, I have other ways of acquiring money.

But, do what you will. You could just randomly snack on things in your house. Why not gorge yourself on sweets like fruit and cake? That;s my diet.

TCH, it's not worth starving over a measly $30.

I don't have a job and I don't get paid for chores, my only income atm is loose change I find laying around, and I wouldn't even go a day without eating.

I went 4 days without anything to eat or drink, besides a can of orange soda, when I was 9. It was extremely painful to eat for the next week after that. And yes, I have a high metabolism. The fact that you suggested it is something I find disgusting, especially since you suggested it to a girl. Words can't even express what I'd like to say about that.

Why are you disgusted by that? What's wrong with a suggestion like tat? And further more, why should it matter what sex I suggest it to?

You are just being irrational, so please, shut up. There's nothing wrong with suggesting something like that to a man or woman. I was trying to show her a situaio where she wouldn't have to spend the $15 dollars.

Unless you can speak rational reasons as to why you are angry, please to talk to me like that again.

TCH, you should know stuff like this now. Telling a girl not to eat for a couple of days is like telling her to STARVE to death. Maiq is correct on this stuff. Learn high society, then come talk to me.

Why does it disgust me?

-Mel is underweight and has a very high metabolism. She would get sick if she didn't eat, most likely. Just because prisoners have been reported to last a month without food doesn't mean she should suffer for such a stupid reason. 2 days may not seem like much for you, but I'm sure that it has a much heavier toll on someone with her age/weight, considering the fact that your body relies on fat when you have no food in you, and last time I checked, underweight people don't really have alot of it.
-It is considered rude to make crude suggestions like that. Especially when you're telling her to not eat at all for just a few measly dollars. It should have been 100% obvious that saying something like that was a stupid idea because starving is not worth it for a little scrape of cash. What if she got sick from the lack of nutrition or her body's attepts to adjust to this foodless state? She would probably have to spend a good deal of what she just got on medicine to help her feel better, and she'll probably have a eat more for a while to rebuild her energy. And yes, you can get sick from not eating/drinking. I threw up from drinking water at the end of my 'moment', because my stomach rejected most of what I ate/drank for a while after.
