We went to the Apple store, the other day, to ask about memory upgrades. The clerk told me the EXACT model of RAM card to get to double my computer's memory.

We went online, and ordered the exact model he told us. It just arrived, today (we paid $16 for extra fast shipping) and it did nothing for my computer. NOTHING.

That's $46 down the drain. I'm thinking about going to the Apple Store and demanding a free memory upgrade out of that guy's paycheck...

Maybe you've done something incorrectly. Have you checked the manufacturers website?

Yep. It's the website that saves you 50% over Apple's website.

The clerk told me to use that website, too.

this sir, is why you go to about this mac, and see how much ram you have.

Then you look for double the amount you have in stores.

Not the store's fault.

Use newegg.com, They can tell you the exact RAM that you need, and it will cost a lot less.

I might buy 4 GB of replacement RAM for my PC seeing as how 3 GB went away.

http://www.newegg.com/Store/Category.aspx?Category=17&name=Memory

They have a little thing on their website where you enter the PC you have and the people who made it, and they will give you links to RAM that willl work for your computer.

Also, Are you sure you installed the RAM correctly? °Д°

Let it also enter your mind that RAM is not the only thing that contributes to system performance.

Wait, can you even upgrade other system specs on a Mac conveniently? I forget.

Yes, if you know how to crack the case open. :3

You're right it isn't the store's fault. It's the clerk's. My mom told him we wouldn't be able to remember what model to get, and he said exactly this:

"Go online to www.crucial.com and go to your model of Mac. You can find out your model by going to About this Mac. Then online but the model 'PC5300 with a 200-pin.' That will double your system's memory."

It didn't.

Why would you have a Mac in the first place?

On a more serious note, that really sucks.
