(Sonny and Don Resetti are from Animal Crossing)
Well if you look at Sonny (Mr. Resetti) He's the older smaller brother (Of Don) And he's the main person(Like Mario). Whereas Don is the younger, taller less intelgent brother who doesn't feature alot (Like Luigi). I think Nintendo did this on purpose to see if we spotted these similatiries and maybe a hint of laziness? They ALWAYS do that with duos.
Look at Olimar and Louie.
Look at all of those sibling pairs in the first Mario and Luigi (Those were TOO obvious, though.)
This is just another one of those things.
