I've got the coding for the player, enemies and projectiles for the first level to a reasonable degree of playability thus far, but the screen scrunches to fit the entire map in when playtested.
Basically, how i make proper shmup cameralol

Go to the room settings, and look at views. Click on the box that says enable views, and the one that says visible when room starts. Near the bottom, choose the object you want the view to center on.

Yes. Also, remember to check the Vbor and Hbor at the bottom. Those are basically the scroll limits. I put them at half of the screen size, so if I had a screen of 640 by 480, then I'd make the border 320 by 240. But that's just me. In a shump, the scroll border should probably be the same as the screen size.
