...wow. Blue Wish Ressurection Plus is probably the most enjoyable danmaku I've played. Not to mention it has a few interesting twists. Basic two button shot control is turned on its' head for a DodonPachi-style system. Button 1 can be rapidly tapped for standard shots, or held for a secondary shot that slows your ship down. While held down, the game actually shows your hitbox as a glowing core, so that's twist #1. Button 2 doesn't just drop a biomb, it fires a powerful bullet pattern instead. Twist #2. Destroying enemies launches bonus items, as standard, but also contains Miclus-like spots that unleash a stream of bonuses when shot multiple times. Twist #3. Twist #4 comes in the form of extreme customisation. You can change the colour of bullets and bonuses, set the controls to anywhere on your keyboard, choose the number of lives, select from four ships, blah blah blah, expo expo expo. You can change graphics and music manually if you know enough, but that's not really a feature. Anyway, a fun curtain shmup for beginners, and a challenging game to master for professionals.
GAMEPLAY(8outof10)¦ Three difficulty levels, high-pace action, plenty of opportunity to show off your mad haxx0r dodging skillz. MUSIC(6outof10)¦ I can't say much about the music, it's just standard bullet hell fodder. DIFFICULTY(9outof10)¦ Oh man, this'll get yer ticker tockin'. Seriously, bullets don't go everywhere, they're trained on YOU. Not the walls, not that dead pixel, YOU. GRAPHICS(7outof10)¦ They do the job, all I can say is that they're okay. OVERALL(8outof10)¦ Great bullet dodger for those just starting out.
