3 reasons.

1. I can hit spiny enemies with style

2. I have more speed (Dashell just makes Mario fall)

3. I can float over spikey surfaces and water.

Yes, I always use Carrie. At least I can use him/her for Chapter 1-3 using Luigi, very nice combo.
