I think that instead of doing the newb2nerr shit, we should just make all the new members lurk for a week.
As in, they can't post for a week after registration and are forced to lurk.
This gives the staff time to check in on the new members and ban any alts or etc., and it forces newbz to learn the ins and outs of Digi so they don't *crag* up on the first day as so many do.
Thoughts? |

This might work, so long as mods still checked new members.

That actually seems like a pretty good idea. I am in favor. |

...The only problem I see is that many of these members would think... ..."Great, now I get to post on this cool new site!"... ...But then they see that they have to wait FOR A WEEK until they can... ...This probably would either disinterest the members in the site completely... ...or they just wouldn't lurk at all, wait a week then start posting like the noobs that they tend to be...
...And you might say that only the less quality members would leave after having to wait a week to post, but if you barely know what what this site is, and how awesome it is ... ...then you probably would say that this site isn't worth your time... ~White Shy Guy |

Not a week. :C That's like... going to kill off our chances of getting new members. |

So it's basically the forced equivalent of "lurk moar"? I guess I could see that working. |

I have thought of something like this in the past, but never suggested it. I say that it would be great. |

Some forums have a process where a new user registers, and instead of getting an email sent to their email, it gets sent to the admin, meaning the users have to write their intros and prove to the admin they're not bots. |

I like the idea, but a week is too long. I think 2 days is fine.

I... Don't like this. I think we shouldn't even have newb-2-nerr, or at least give it to more people. My old best friend wasn't admitted and he was fine. And honestly I fI had to wait a week to join a forum I wouldn't go there. Note how other places don't do this? I mean, the simplest solution is the best solution. |

It's because Francis doesn't trust the mods and severely underpowers them. It's saddening; the power distribution on this site is sickening. |

Waka Waka Waka...
I'd say no.
Maybe for them to get in, they'd have to use the wiki to study for a digibutter test. o: You know, ones that could be found easily or something and they'd post that and there intros in the forum to be approved |
