Computer frequently freezes.

For the past week or so, my computer has been freezing up a lot.
Yesterday, it must have done it at least 5 times. Today, it has froze 7 times.
Two of those times occured as it was turning back on after having been turned off.
When my computer freezes, it's non responsive to everything, no appliactions work, the screen is tinted white, the mouse doesn't move, it makes an extremely loud high pitched sound, and holding the power button doesn't do shit. To turn it off, I have to unplug the battery.
I checked my computer for viruses and spyware, nothing came up.
It could possibly be that my computer doesn't have a fan, or that it's hard drive is defective to the point that I have to manually run it on the boot up screen, and it's identified as an external hardrive rather then an internal one.
And don't even try to suggest a system restore, those things make my computer freeze, I've tried.

Install a virus that'll do that. Your parents won't figure out.
