You guys are the closest thing I can get to, so yeah.
I'm looking for the general gaming public's opinions on the current generation of consoles, minus handhelds, for a research paper I have to do. Preferably from those who own all three consoles, or have played all three through a gaming convention, friends, or somewhere else.
I want honest opinions on what you guys think is the current winning console.
And PLEASE, no swearing. I have to link back to this page when I write the paper, so my mother is likely to look at this topic. I'll be screwed if she sees that kinda stuff.  |

Well, I can only give an opinion on the Wii, since that's the only one I have, but, while it is doing well, I'm not exactly happy with it due to the amount of casual focus Nintendo is putting on it. |

Having only played the PS3 for a few minutes tops, I like the 360 best. I had a Wii, and I had a lot of fun with it (FE: Radiant Dawn was amazing, and I obviously enjoyed Super Paper Mario) but after I got my 360 it just sat there not getting any use. There are some good Wii games among the sea of shovelware, but they're few and far between. The 360's library just looks better to me, and the online service is great compared to Nintendo WFC. ФֻФ |

2 years ago, I wouldn't have ever thought about getting a PS3. Third party companies weren't exactly eager to start making console-specific games for it, since the requirements were so demanding. Now, a couple years later, people have started to take notice of its power and are using it to their advantage. Sales have started skyrocketing, especially this past year with titles like LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, MGS4, Infamous, God of War 3, Uncharted 2, Resistance 2 and countless others.
In no way is the PS3 "winning" the console wars at the moment (I think mainly due to price range), but I feel it has a ton of potential to come out on top in the next year or so.

RD was good but when you compare it to the earlier games in the series it was kinda crappy. |

Thats not why, its cause the sales are better. Having the best product isnt just depenedent on it performing the best, its a combination of factors |

Having the best product is getting your console unbelievably overrated and selling it at a cheap price while at the same time ignoring your old audience and selling out to make millions on little kids and grandparents
I love the 360 and the PS3. The Wii is dead to me now that I have the other consoles, as well as PC games. |
