America's Army 3 is a game being developed by the U.S. Army for the same purpose as the previous two. To help boost recruitment. It is a free online FPS. The U.S. Army is taking many measures to ensure that this game is different from most FPSes. First they recorded every sound in the game, so say when you cock your gun, that is how it would sound in real life. They also factored in their ballistics data. This includes such things as how the bullet deals with a sheet of metal, or how large is the area a shotgun shell will hit. All different materials behave differently, so one will have to distinguish between cover and concealment. They wanted to make it as realistic as possible, so they removed the ability to jump whenever, as this was abused. Instead it uses a system that allows you to interact with your environment. It also has a fluid cover system, much like GRAW. You can pre-load the game on Steam, and play it as soon as it comes out. I personally am looking forward to this game. Sounds like its gonna be good, and hey, its free.
