Technically, Eye of the North is the only true expansion, because you have to have one of the previous ones to play it. If you're talking about individual chapters, I'd say Nightfall. It has the best storyline, and a lot of other stuff. Prophecies is the longest, and Factions is short and too easy. But it does have the Assassin. |

What exactly do you mean by that? |

There's Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall. The expansion is Eye of the North. If you don't have any of the first 3, you can't play EotN. |

Ah, so Prophecies, Fractions, and Nightfall, are technically different games? |

Factions, not Fractions. And technically, they are seperate games. If you have more than one, you can transfer your characters between them. |

Don't you dare recommend any GW but Prophecies for a first timer Plastic Mario. Everyone knows it has the best tutorials. |

I still say Prophecies is awfully slow... but still my favorite.
I will give ya help to start out with... GW is half-dead for me now. Starting people out may give me something to do... |

I've got Prophecies and Eye of the North, but I wouldn't really recommend Prophecies. It doesn't have any special professions (Factions has Ritualist and Assassin, and Nightfall has Paragon and Dervish). I only bought Prophecies because my friend bought it. If you play Guild Wars and decide that you really like it, I definitely recommend Eye of the North. Just make sure that you're at level 20! Unfortunately for me, I made the mistake of buying the expansion at level 16. Fortunately, I leveled up. |
