Koopas are considered "bad" in mario games... but come on...
if an insane plumber in blue overalls started slowly killing off your entire family, one koopa at a time... wouldn't YOU defend your home? |

Seriously though, what did goombas even do to Mario? They just WALK. Can't he just DODGE them, not try to commit genocide on them? |

In reality, Mario is a villian. He thinks he is supirior enough to stomp on foes as stepping stone. What kind of hero will do that?!
Makes me wonder what happened to the pacifist's/wusses. |

Actually,
There are the good and the bad. In All Mario games, the Koopas, Goombas, and the like that I stomp on are bad guys following some evil villian. Then there are those that are good, like the villagers from Goomba Village, Koopa Village, etc. |

The stomp unhypnotizes them. Or in some cases, you gotta defend yourself, no matter what the costs.  |

Good point. When Mario stands in front of them, Mario gets attacked.
Now as for me, Francis, I was falsly accused of being an enemy. It was Mario who broke into MY castle to take MY butterfly which I found in the wild. |

Look, I am a very misunderstood guy. Those guys down in twilight town never respect the steeple, they spray painted names of terrible games on it and threw litter at my door. I wanted payback and mario came in and attacked me. >=( |

How many other creatures in the Marioverse look like Mario does? You can count them on one hand. The innocent Goombas and Koopas just walk into him because they don't realise he's a real person; they think he's just a plant or something that they can by-pass. |
