How is it that he is in all three games, but never truelly remembers who Mario is until the third one? How is it he always convinietly moves to the location of your next aventure? And how is it that in SPM, when Peach falls from the sky, he says he does not recodnize her, WHEN HE WAS LIVING IN TOAD TOWN IN THE FIRST GAME?! Explain NAO!

Different Merlons, just like there are different Links and Zeldas in the LoZ series, perhaps? o_O

But Zelda takes place in many time periods. If there was more than one Merlon, there would have to be more than one Mario.

Fair point. Merlon must have Alzheimers Disorder. Mild or extreme, I cannot say. Ah ha ha...

RPG Amnesia, I call it. You know how Main characters usually lose all their equipment and forget most of their last adventures? I think Merlon has it too, only he loses his job and house.

Perhaps it's a completly different person named Merlon, who just happens to resemble the previous Merlons?

Wanky (or whatever his name is) said that, where Merlon comes from, people are named by their job.

But it IS a completly different Merlon. There may be one Merlon in several places.

Yeah, that the main characters always scatter their damn equipment over the whole country is really annoying... But it was mentioned in-game that in the Tribe of Ancients, People are named after their function. So a Merlon is any wise-ass sorcerer dude performing a special task - whichever it is.

No, I'll just bet they're two different people who are incredibly similar and share the same name.

Maybe the reason why he's in convenient locations is because he has a crystal ball and can prophesize events in the games?

As for the amnesiac-like behavior, maybe he spends so much time Seeing into the future that he forgets the past? Kind of like Merlin, who is said to have reverse-memory; he remembers what will/may be but does not know the past (like how we don't know the future). He can guess at it, learn what had happened through other people, but he does not know it for himself.
