I played the demo of the "Age of Conan" of Xbox 360, and PC, coming out soon. and here is my wee little review on what I think of it.
1. I thought it would look REALLY awesome, cause the start menu looked ALOT like 300. so I played it, and you are at this island, and the first cutscene is killing a few pirates, and then you walk out into the light. and 2. your a freakin caveman. A CAVEMAN. that claims he is a BARBARIAN! anyway, he meets this girl, who I guess had a little flirt going on, and voila, you start the game.
3. Gameplay
Gameplay is like most RPG's, and kind of like Eternal Sonata, yet like Ninja Gaiden at the same time. I gotta say I HATE the character, Conan. he is a retarded Caveman, and is not one of the sexy video game characters (samus, ryu hayabusa, master chief, link, altair, solid snake etc).
But 1 think I like is cutting people in half, and slicing there heads of. you can do some pretty cool combo's, like grab a knight, pull him down, press Y to do some upper cut (with a sword lol), and then slice him up with X. you can also jump (like a monkey), which can be useful at times, because he hardly has a delay for jumping. anyways, you can grab mini pirates and throw them against the grown, and stab them. alot like spiderman: friend or foe? you pick up these little orbs for health, but there like a magnet, so they just float to you.
whats really awesome is cutting peoples heads of in slow motion and in half. you can see them bones sticking out of there bodies and such.
you can also pick up weapons which is awesome, three weapons at least. pick up a pirates sword, and then pick up another one, and put the OTHER pirate sword in your sheath.
Theres also some cool effects as in if you get shot by an arrow, it will just stay in there saying "RB" to take out arrow, and you will slowly lose health if you leave the arrow in you, and your heart beats, (controller rumble), so by pressing RB, he just yanks out the arrow. also, you can free abunch of people by pressing RB, and keep taping B to brake up a cage. also turn levers with RB.
The demo was short, (but you know demos nowadays), but I liked it. I just HATE the fact that your "Barbarian" is caveman...
