I was watching various IGN videos of off-screen Smash gameplay. While watching one I saw Luigi and though to myself, "Hey self, Luigi is not a confirmed character! What is he doing right der?" But then I looked down and saw that the character name said Mario. It sure looked like Luigi to me, and more than just a color change. He looked taller and thinner. Am I just seeing things? Or is Luigi just an alternate color to Mario and in the final version they will change the name to Luigi? I could see them doing the same thing with Sonic/Shadow/Knuckles.

It's most likely it's just a color swap, And if they do decide to put Luigi in brawl hopefully they don't make him as weak as he was in melee. |

Well, it also says "Mario" is his name. Its just a demo, maybe they didnt want people to know that Luigi is just an alt yet.
Think about it... why would they have a color scheme for mario that matches Luigi exactly? Wouldnt that cause confusion since the two players would look almost identical? |

Exact doesn't mean similar. Different fireballs, different Smash B moves, and different styles for UpB.
No doubt Luigi will have the Vaccusuck 9000 in this though, since Nintendo loves making him lose every shred of his pride. |

That pertained to Roy, Dr.Mario, Pichu, and the others. IE, they are either getting their own movesets for Brawl, or getting a boot out of the door. |
