When I do the Francis boss battle, I usually use Bowser and Thoreau....you can throw the Meowbombs at Francis and do damage or you can throw Francis and hit him with Bowser's fire breath before Francis hits the ground. And you can just avoid all the rest of Francis's attacks as much as possible. It's a really easy way to beat Francis, and it works for me every time.

Anyways, try Mario and Boomer or Bowser and Carrie. I just beat him by luck. :D

You see, there's a difference between Fracktail and Mimi, and Francis.

Fracktail and Mimi don't have HP. Litterally. They have a predertermined amount of hit to take before they are beaten, no matter how powerful are those hits.

You could hit Mimi with 1, 42 or 100 damages, it doesn't matter.

But Francis, him, DOES have HP. And this HP was adjusted according to the level the player SHOULD be when he/she meets him.

So, you are level 3? Francis' HP is something like... 50? 60? 80? I don't really remember, but it will take a lot normal hits (20+) to beat him. AND, he has a high chance of launching an attack between the hits. Double damage is not so useless at this point, hm? Use whatever doubling damage item you have, and use Bowser in combo with a good pixl... but don't bother using Thudley, though. Go with Carrie or Thoreau, like most of the people says.
