A Spell Gone Horribly Wrong

---

A pair of small, young green hands reached up and grabbed the jar, pulling it off the shelf. Unscrewing the lid, the holder peered inside at the contents- a jar of strange, greenish goo.
"Ru...This should be having adequateness."
Refastening the lid, Fawful jumped down from the stepladder and toddled over to the center of his hideout. He had pushed aside most of the furniture and such to make way for his current endeavor: a large, intricately-patterened circle which had been drawn onto the concrete floor. It was colored a myriad of shades and ringed with various strange symbols. Glittering stones and bundles of herbs had been placed here and there, all painted in stripes of purple and green or dusted with black powder.
The Beanish boy picked up a book from a nearby table and tucked it under his arm. Carefully stepping between the symbols inscribed in the ring, he approached the center, where a large enough clearing for him to sit had been made. Kneeling there, he unfolded the book in his lap and studied the yellowing pages.
"Let us have the seeing..." he murmured. Eyes on the writings, he unfastened the lid again, and dipped his hand inside. Leaning over, he began to draw a series of smaller symbols around the perimeter of his spot with the paste.
As soon as he had finished drawing the last symbol, the inscription flashed a violent shade of orchid purple, and began to shine- exactly the reaction he had been hoping for.
"Rururu!" he laughed, jumping to his feet with a wild grin. "Perfection! It is being the time!"
He unfastened the clasp on his robe; hanging from his neck were two pendants. One was a squarish rock, hanging from a thick chain, and inscribed with a single symbol, which was glowing orchid like the lines he had just finished writing. The other was a small cloth bag on a string.
Fawful took a step back and opened the bag, taking out the contents inside. For a moment, his insane visage softened.
"...O Great Cackletta..."
In his hands was a scrap of rich purple cloth- all that was left of his mistress. He sighed, then lifted his head and looked across the room; a portrait of he and his former mentor hung against the wall.
His grin returned.
"I will not have the disappointing of you!"
He folded the scrap and placed it on the floor. Lifting the heavy amulet from his neck, he set it own atop the cloth.
He glanced at the book again.
"One last step..." he breathed. "And then it will be commencing!"
Without hesitation, he bit as hard as he could into the tip of his thumb. A small pinprick of red blood appeared against the greenish skin.
And with that, he pressed it into the center of the amulet.
The symbols lit up one at a time, until the whole ring was absolutely blazing with purplish light. The stones and herbs lifted into the air; the powder spun in a dusty black tornado. Fawful stood firm, watching the drop of blood against the amulet begin to shine as well-
And then everything went pitch-black.
"Ru? Who had the turning out of the lights? THIS GIVES ME FURY!"
A deep rumbling sounded all around him, shaking the chamber itself.
Fawful felt the color drain from his face.
"...That cannot be a sign of goodness."

---

Little did Fawful know, his spell had not failed...But instead triggered a chain of events that could only be described as chaos...

Okay, rule time! Standard RP rules apply, which means NO godmodding, insulting, blatant stupidity/rudeness, etc.
This is a private, novel-style RP. That means that 1.) You must PM me for a character spot with a sample of your roleplaying. 2.) You type like it's a book; italics or such for thoughts, quotation marks for speaking, and so on.

This is a Mario RP. As such, only Mario characters will be accepted. Characters who have died or been otherwise disposed of (ex.: Grodus, Smithy, Dimentio), can be brought back on legitimate terms (AKA, as long as it has something to do with Fawful's backfired spell or such). Mario OCs will be accepted as well.

Kammy Koopa, or as some - before her nickname became widely used - Kamilia T. Koopa had been in one of the many castles in the Dark Land Koopa Kingdom. After seeing that irritating Plumber and those strange polygonal people cross dimensions with a simple spell. she wanted to see if the Koopa Kingdom would be able to use this to their own advantage.

It was an intriguing concept, this cross between the second- and third-dimensional spaces. With experimentation, it could be possible to cross into the fourth-dimensional space, otherwise known as time. With this, the Koopa Clan would be capable of going anywhere - or anywhen!

It was too good to pass up the chance...

As a prelimanry test, she 'flipped' between the third and second dimension. She looked at herself in a conveiniently placed mirror, and to her shock and awe she resembled a piece of paper! A drawing, if you will. A realistic one, but still a flattened version of herself.

"Time to change back..." she muttered as she prepared to 'flip' back.

But this was not to occur, for at that very moment, a strange vortex appeared in place of the 'flip-box' and swallowed her whole.

Kammy Koopa was being transported to an alternate reality. One in which Kammy and Kamek might not be brother and sister. One in which Fawful might not be capable of a very decent (but a little bit obvious) disguise-spell. One in which anything and everything that she knew and held dear could be different.

The old Magikoopa began to materialize before Fawful, her purple robes perhaps toying with the poor Beanish child's hopes.

Coughing on the risen dust and floundering in the dark, Fawful stumbled across the circle until his hands met a bean lamp on the nearest table. He grabbed it and turned it on, trying to see. The light was dim- almost out of power- but it was enough.
And then he saw it.
A figure wearing purple robes.
It had worked.
His hands shook violently; the lamp dropped from his grasp and clattered to the floor, but he took no mind.
"O-O- O Great Cackletta!"
Before he could stop to gather himself, he had run forward, throwing himself at the figure in a large hug. He knew he'd probably be on the recieving end of one of her spells later, but right now, he couldn't care less.

Kammy Koopa stared at Fawful. It was that mad little beansprout! Wait- was he hugging her?

'I think he mentioned "Cackletta" or something... Let's see- ah! That was that hag of a Bean-witch that he served.

...

Still can't believe that Lord Bowser had...
'

Kammy mentally snickered at the memory of seeing the images of 'Bowletta'. Bowser had spent months just trying to get the Troops to look at him without laughing.

Breasts on the King's plastron... That was both horrifying and amusing.

"You have me mistaken for another. Release me or I will turn you into a goomba!" she demanded.

((Beansprout. Hehe... I love that insult for Beans I thought of... xD

Italics with '...' are thoughts, in case if you (or any readers) are confused.))

Fawful blinked. That voice...She may have been gone for a while now, but he'd still know Cackletta's voice anywhere.
That was not Cackletta's voice.
Which meant- Who...or WHAT...was he hugging?
He jumped back with a mixture of an alarmed yell and a disgusted cry of rage, scrambling for the lamp. He found it, but his dropping it had broken the bulb, rendering it useless. Before he could start ranting, however, a few shafts of dusty light crept back into the darkness, allowing him to see.
Standing in the middle of his circle- where Cackletta should've been- was none other than Kammy Koopa.
"What are YOU doing in this place which is here?!" he fumed, both shocked and angry.

Kammy scowled as she dusted her robes. "I was in the middle of an experiment involving 'flip' spells; a branch of magic that involves the transference of oneself or others across dimensional space. When I was about to stop the preliminary experimentation, I was suddenly seized by what I can safely assume to be you spell."

She looked down and saw the magic circle.

"Not a bad attempt, but resurrection circles do not involve that letter. A single mistake can cause unintended effects." she said as she pointed out a couple strange and arcane emblems. The koopa then groaned. "This is why lower levels of Magikoopas are barred from attempting such complicated magic..."

Fawful bristled. This hag dare blatantly insult his endeavors so?!
"Have the shutting up!" he roared, grabbing a jar of beans from the tabletop and hurling it at her. "You have had the ruining of my spell!"

The jar of beans hit her square in the plastron. It was a good thing that she - like all robed Koopas - still wore her shell underneath her clothes, but it still was alot for an old Koopa.

Shell or not, Kammy was knocked into the nearby wall.

"Oof... Its not my fault you did not draw the circle right." she managed to utter.

Fawful wasn't listening. It may have been his fault- although he certainly wouldn't admit it- but there was now a Koopa in his hideout. A minion of Bowser- and his enemy.
He reached for his Headgear, jamming it on and charging up a blast. He'd have to remedy this right away.

Kammy Koopa was startled, but she quickly pulled out her wand and manifested a shield of magic energy before her, which should deflect at least most of the blast. A small bit of it could break through, but the most it would be able to do would be to knock her unconscious.

Not that she was aware of this, mind you...

((Shortest rp-post ever. xD))

The blast hit Kammy's shield, and as I said before, a small amount of the energy broke through the spell and hit Kammy square in the head. The old Magikoopa fell to the ground, unconscious but alive. And, sadly, her fate was in the tiny hands of a mad little Beanish who loathed her sovereign.

(Lawlz. All I could think of, tho. xD; )

Fawful dusted off his hands on his robe and stormed over to the old Magikoopa. He relieved her of her wand, and, with a length of rope, firmly bound her arms to her sides and tied her wrists together.
He grabbed her by the collar and- with some difficulty, due to his smaller size- began to drag her to a different chamber of the sewers. However, he was unsure of exactly what to do with her. He could try using her to barter with Bowser's forces- he knew she was one of the higher-ranking Koopas- but now she knew the location of his hideout...
This was a troubling situation, indeed.

Little did Fawful know that this high-ranking member of the Koopa Troop was in actuality from an alternate reality. This meant that the Koopa Kingdom of his would either believe him to have somehow created a clone of Kammy Koopa or that it was some sort of trick.

Kammy was still unconscious as she was bound and dragged.

Fawful settled for tying Kammy to a pipe in the next room. It was close enough for him to keep an eye on her, but a good enough distance to protect him in case she tried anything funny.
He tapped her wand experimentally against his palm, studying it.
"...Ru...Perhaps..."
His mistress had never used Koopa magic- but perhaps he could fix this after all.
