Seriously. I was actually scared when I was playing Pearl in the Old Chateau. What gives? Although, I still caught a Rotom. |

Edit: I haven't been playing it as much recently though because Castlevania is awesome. |

I used a repel; and Gastly never scared me, either. It's just that it was at night and I had the music turned up and it eventually got to me. |

Well, you go CAN go there on your way to the 2nd badge, but it's better to go there after you beat the game and obtain the national dex, seeing as how thats when you can catch Rotom. Remember, you can only catch him at night and he's inside the TV. |
