Lightning is discovered on Venus. Which means there's nitrogen too. But, as I was discussing this with Yoshifan IRL, he told me that Venus had water, meaning it had oxygen, meaning it was possible to live up until the water went away. We were thinking that maybe plants could grow on Venus, namely cacti. Think about it: They take CO2, don't need much water, and can survive extreme heat! All that would be need to be done is for them to be launched in pods or capsules to they would survive the atmosphere. Now, I already know the problems in this plan: 1. How to get water? A: Maybe send down sprinkler pods or something. 2. How to survive the acid rain? A: I haven't figured that out yet. There are probably more things that I haven't thought of, but still, it's a semi-plausible idea. Right? |

What I think is that Venus was like the Earth at one point, with living beings, but they were as careless as humans and polluted the atmosphere; leading to what Venus is currently like. After all; it's the most similar to Earth; and it has acid rain. |

I think I've heard you would melt and get creamed by the gravity too. |

According to The Magic School Bus, Venus and Earth have about the same amount of gravity. You might still melt though. :B |

The gravity wouldn't crush you... the atmospheric pressure would. And on a darker note, Earth will look like that in the future... but Mars will become much like Earth. |

LISTEN TO THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS, DAMMIT.
The acid rain would definately be a problem. That's like 1000 Earths worth of pollution.
AL GORE, YOU'RE FOCUSING ON THE WRONG PLANET, DAMMIT! |

If life DOES exist on Venus, then they're VERY well adapted. |
