Seriously, the ad looks ugly. At least make it look nicer, or move it to the bottom.

Here is my conjecture that applies to most of us here. The ad is advertising games such as SPM, SMS, SMRPG, and whatever other games we happen to be talking about. Generally, this would mean that we have played it and are talking about it making the ad pointless. I'm not saying that it shouldn't be there, but I am saying that it should either be moved, looked nicer, or that it should be an option to somehow individually remove the ad.

Just a note; I am seeing some really odd ads.

This ad also proves that my greatest enemy, Google, is trying to take over the internet.

Either get rid of the ad or move it somewhere else. The site looks freakin' ugly when there is a pointless ad on the banner.

(My dad's laptop parental blocks the google ad. Now I have a big 'Parental controls has blocked access to this webpage' sign stuck on the banner.)

Seriously, what happens when someone uses fireworks or searchlight?

I've noticed on some forums that the ads disappear when you register. Perhaps do that here?

The ads are so that Francis can get money for the site. He talked about it in the past, and I made a poll asking everybody if they wanted ads, most people said yes.

I simply think at this point that it needs a pixelated border to decently match the back, and maybe a shadow backdrop. Right now, it is a giant white rectangle in the middle of the sky.

For the site or form the site ?

If Francis had to pay his money 'till now for this (except the normal fees for accessing or posting via the ISP) then the ad can stay - I'll block it anyway and hope that won't stop the money flowing.

If he does it to get a bit of an income from it (even if that might benefit Digibutter, like if he buys a server or a better CBox) then I'd rather have it ad-free. Before Google can claim any rights from the small print.

I'd especially like it removed if it's just to fuel the premium chat box - I don't use it, I don't think anyone does, for that matter, and I think we should get rid of both the box and the ads.

Personally, i find ads annoying too, but, theres a lot of money in online advertising (see Google's stock price). So:

A) The ads have not modified the site layout at all
B) I am tweaking them to be more relevant (allthough peanut butter is delicious)
C) I can adjust the appearance slightly, which I have done.
D) If it is not worth it, I will take them down.
E) digibutter is quickly outgrowing my resources... it will soon cost me more money to keep it running, so if a little banner at the top helps out, then so be it.
