It seems that whenever I pick up a new game, I end up beating it within a few days. I enjoyed La-Mulana not only because it was hard, but because it was a long game, and it kept me entertained for more than a week. So I ask you people, are games too short these days?

So I herd u liek long, hard things.

Hario: I meant games, demmit!

But seriously, I see what you mean. Every time I finish a new game I feel disappointed. It's probably because most game developers are trying to take a "wider audience" approach.

Yeah. But even so, some games are just right. Like Twilight Princess. Evil Lakebed Temple... >_<;

And then there's some which are long because of the very first area, like Knights of the Old Republic 2. Evil tutorial world... I wanted off! But it JUST KEPT GOING! >_<;

Well, some games are too short, others are a bit too long. It just depends on how good you are at games.

We're growing up. We think games are getting shorter, but truly, we are getting taller.

In other words, we're getting epic at super maro *insert word here* games by now, after 64 and sunshine, we just think it's short, when we're only good at it. We are becoming more /skilled/ young patowans.

I have lived through Pokemon GS and RS. GS kept me occupied for months on end, and I enjoyed every bit of it. RS kept me busy for about a few weeks, and had me thinking, "What the... was that just the sequel to GS?"

I remember buying a game and beating it within an hour, and they wouldn't let me return it. D:<

But yes, games are WAY too short. One of the main reasons I like RPGs is because they usually last a long time.

<3 ToS cause it was more than 80 hours on my first playthrough

There have always been alot of short games. However, I'd still like to see more 30+ hour games than games that are around 8 hours. I believe that a game should last you if you pay good money for it.

I got wario ware for christmas.

I beat it in what, three hours? A game had better keep me ocupied atleast five days. Kingdom hearts II did a GREAT job of this, and I would consider Kingdom hearts an rpg, because you level up. Rpg titles pwn, because guess what? They last.
