I'm going to discuss something REEAALLY random.

FINGERNAILS

Really, why do they exist. What function could they have possibly had back when humans were developing? Maybe just because animals like to have claws. So we had to have imitation claws.

Any thoughts?

*rubs chin evily* I think... that everybody didnt have finger nails before... I think... about 100 years ago... Aliens... came down to the earth and attached themselves to our fingertips.

And to this day, we help them produce.

*shot*

I have no idea how or why they are on us D: I think they're there because it would be creepy without them XD Imagine just flesh ... no fingernails >_>

Nature heeds not for those weak minded fools.

Fingernails would look creepy if we never had them before.

Also, 100 years ago, America was already formed.

This has been derailed. So let's continue discussing why we think fingernails were not evolved out.

If I had any trace of sanity, I would ask. Therefore, I'm not asking.

Back on topic,

Fingernails are made up of calcium, i dont know what they are for, but, they must be there for a reason.

Maybe for a defence mechanism of some sort? *shot*

I think they are sort of claws, but not quite. They can't get very sharp. And they break easily. What could they be for?

They could be something that just forms, on every human being.
It may have no reason to exist at all,

But then again...

The world may never know.

Actually, my theory is that fingernails are toenails that somehow, because of a renegade toilet armed with a sniper rifle and an ice cream cone, got transferred to your hands.
