I mean, so far Digibutter has run almost solely on free in game ads and recommendations to friends. If we started to advertise I think we could reach the 1,000 member mark very easily. I mean this is a superb base to start from, most website admins have dreams about starting off this strong. Hell, some admins wish they had a site with this many members that do advertise. If we started a strong ad campaign with sigs and the whole shebang, I could see Digibutter becoming the next big video game fan site.
I am planning on a recruting drive the the GW Guild... it seems like everyone doesn't have a problem with it, and I am good at picking out bad ones as soon as they hit the guild.
Do you really want to attract the people that say "hi im new can i b let in now plz"? That's 99% of the internet. Besides, what's wrong with our small community as it is?
Advertising has it's ups and downs Yay: -new members -digibutter could become more well-known Oh teh Noes: -more than half of the internet is filled with "hay gys im nwe lol ur al nubs i teh 7331 ma5ter w00t w00t" -many forums will ben ben ben a member if they advertise for another site

That's why we have the new members section, so we can prune new members to see if they are "worthy."
It's a small joke within the game, and THAT children, is not advertising.
Besides, people who play the game don't know the site is... real.
The best way to advertize is to look up "Super Paper Mario" (Adding francis if ya want to) Post a comment saying Digibutter.nerr is a real site, or if it's a different vid about SPM, then say that the site Francis mentions earlier in-game is real, and can be used to discuss the game. Simple.
I think advertising is a good idea. If we advertise the site as a whole along with the Brawl tournament, I'm sure the site will get a BUNCH of new members.
