*No sounds came from the darkness that surrounded them. The silence was disturbing and unnatural, for this building, a few days ago, was the bustling center of the Gotham News Network. Now it was the waiting place... a villain's last hide-out; the last refuge against the authorities, and old enemies. This villain new that his reign of crime was about to end- how it would end, he was uncertain. The only thing on his mind was to make the most out of the situation- have as much fun as he could possibly have. That was who he was.
Batman abruptly motioned for the group to stop.*
Something is here.
*A heavy breathing could be heard, echoing throughout the corridor. It wasn't human; it was a horrific sound that only the worst nightmares could produce. Batman stood still, awaiting for the darkness to make the first strike. The first of Joker's games had begun...* |

Just as I thought... the elevators aren't functioning.
*Batman stares at a ruined elevator door. After a few moments, he looked up, and noticed a hole in the cieling. He threw his grappling hook, which latched on to a broken board. He grabbed the rope, and motioned for Devin to do so, as well.* |
