You heard it, folks - Namco has released info on who their Secret Characters in Soul Calibur IV will be...
Darth Vader, and Yoda.
No, this is not a clever ruse or some prank of sorts. Here is the link to the article itself, sporting Screenshots and hi-def close-ups.
Personally, I'm a fan of both Soul Calibur and a Star Wars Nerd, so I'm basically freaking out right now.
This is the FIRST time, INAVERYVERYLONGTIME, that Star Wars Characters have been in a fighting game. The first, I think, was on the PS1.
DISCUSS, and try not to Nerd-Gasm all over it. DDD:

inorite?
I originally wanted a PS3 (BEFORE 360 and Wii. >.>;; ) for MGS4, Ratchet, and that Indiana Jones-esque game that came out, but... This has increased the PWN factor to CLOSE TO 9,000!

Wow. The General...approves. This, sir, is high powered stuff. I really don't have anything to say, just because it's that awesome.
Nice find, Twitch. |

This is bullshit, Namco's just becoming a damn sellout company. Why the hell would the put *crag* DarthVader in Soul Calibur!?! Man, and Flavio has such high hopes for this game... |

I'm gonna HAVE to agree with Flavio here... Honestly I hate Star Wars and all it stands for, but regardless, this breaks the #1 rule in gaming: Games based on films suck indeffinately. While I'd never have SCIV due to my lack of $600 lieing around, adding Star Wars characters to a videogame, especially a videogame made in Japan, is really just and insult to videogaming in general... It looked like a great game before... |

Well, that's not exactly why Flavio's upset. Flavio enjoys Star Wars, but Star Wars+Soul Calibur? Come on Namco! Get your act together! |

Maybe it would've been better if Bandai-Namco were to have put in Roronoa Zoro, complete with his Three-Sword Set, and his new voice, done by Christopher R. Sabat! And it's too bad that they're not gonna make a Soul Calibur IV for Wii, because it's too weak for it to be usable. Plus, we already got Soul Calibur Legends going on! If WE had it for Wii, we'd end up with Link again! Either that or we'll end up with Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance's Ike, Son of Greil, heroic leader of the Greil Mercinaries!! |

You could say the same exact thing for Soul Calibur II when they added Link, Spawn, and that other guy. Namco's been a damn sell-out forever now, and you'll just have to get used to it and enjoy it.
Besides, if you don't like the characters, then don't play as them. |

I want this game now.
That was the best update for a fighting game that I have seen in a long, long time. Star Wars, the greatest epic movie trilogy of all time (The originals), was a fine choice to pull characters from. Epic and hilarious at the same time. It doesn't make much sense, but it's a cameo. Cameos normally don't make sense, such as how Spawn or Link appeared. |
