Floro Sprouts

-History-
Originated from the Floro Kingdom. It was made by King Croacus the Fourth to subdue the Cragnons who were unknowingly poisoning their water supply. The water in question, tainted by trash, had driven him insane and thus prompted the creation and use of the Floro Sprouts.

Flora Year 1625
The Floro Sprouts were created by cross-pollinating the Dream Spores with a unique breed of flora which suppressed conscious thought - but only when it was consumed with basil (which is rare in the Floro Kingdom).

Flora Year 1626
The first Sprout was tested on a Cragnon. It was a grand success and so King Croacus announced his master plan to stop the Cragnons from polluting. The Royal Council was uneasy about it, but they accepted the plan, seeing as how water was perhaps the most important resource to their people. It was not long before the first twenty Cragnons from multiple villages were abducted and Sprout'd.

By the time Mario arrived in the Cragnon Village closest to the Floro Kingdom's borders, three hundred Cragnons were taken prisoner and Sprout'd. A couple died in the gem mines of the Floro Caverns, but otherwise most of them were freed when after Mario and his friends stopped the the whole Floro Sprouting of the Cragnons.

It is interesting to note that a strange but vibrantly colored dimensional traveller became friends with the King and was granted access to the Royal Greenhouse (and thus to the Floro Sprouts) upon the promise that he would help save the kingdom's water supply. He took at least twenty Sprouts and was known to have used two of them. One he used on a test subject (later found to be a rather strange looking creature named O'Chunks) to gauge how much control would be granted and whether there would be any alteration in physical strength.


-Stages of Development-

Seed
The Floro Seeds resemble green acorns, but have Floro Sprout-like leaves on the stem. If they remain in the ground for a month, they make a new seed and then wither.

Sprout
The Floro Sprout, well, the visible part, is a green stalk with two big leaves atop. Its roots are long, thin, and white.
Once implanted in someone's head, its sprouting can be prolonged by magic. When it does sprout, the plant takes nourishment from the brainwaves of the Sprout'd victim by wrapping its roots around the brain. As it grows, the roots wrap tighter and tighter around the brain. Should the roots actually destroy the brain, the Sprout becomes an irreplacable part of the central nervous system. Should the Sprout wither after the brain is destroyed, the person will die.
After the plant has nourished itself enough, it will seed.

Jolene: I think I'm unintentionally doing that... I mean, one day I randomly came up with Mario species' scientific names... then I dug up and revised my Koopa Kingdom Laws and Hierarchy. Then I did a heap of info on the Shroobs... And now this!
